Mike Campbell
Global Director, USA
About
Mike is a Global Director and vice president of 2H’s Houston office, where he is responsible for the management of the engineering group. Mike has over 22 years of experience dedicated to riser engineering, ranging from conceptual design and feasibility to detailed design, installation, monitoring and operational integrity management for all types of riser systems and subsea equipment. He has authored numerous technical publications including fatigue analysis methods and the use of field measurements to benchmark and improve design tools. Mike is a graduate of the University of Sheffield, UK, and has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics.
Yusuf Arikan
Senior Principal Engineer
About
Yusuf Arikan has over 15 years of structural engineering and project management experience in the design and analysis of various offshore structures including hydrodynamics of various floating offshore wind foundations. In recent years, he has been extensively involved in floating offshore wind projects, specifically the coupled assessment of the floater & turbine, and the design and analysis of mooring systems and power cables.
Yusuf holds a Bachelor’s degree from Bogazici University, Turkey and a Master’s degree from the University of Houston. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Pierre Guerin
Director, France
About
Pierre is the director of the 2H France office. He is based in the south of France and splits his time between there and Paris. He is responsible for management of the Paris office and global growth of the company’s engineering services for the renewable energy sector. Guerin came to 2H in April 2021 with over 20 years’ experience in marine renewable energy, in particular, offshore wind, shipbuilding and oil and gas. Most recently he spent 5 years managing the development of renewable energy projects for Bardot Ocean. He also has an impressive 10-year track record of regional and international expansion projects from Principia where he focused on floating structures, coastal and naval defence engineering.

Floating wind systems are complex dynamic structures that require precise engineering to ensure a realistic, robust design that maximises performance cost-effectively. We bring 30 years of expertise in engineering for dynamic marine environments, a technology-driven approach and a practical understanding of offshore system design, geotech, hardware, materials and installation to offer optimised, leading-edge solutions for floating wind developments.
Full system advanced global analysis and modelling
We provide full global analysis and modelling of the entire floating wind system, stress testing every element, interface and interaction from the seabed to the tip of the turbine to provide confidence in the design for its intended use and identify design limitations and risks. Where there is an opportunity to optimise performance and reduce costs, we will propose options and alternatives.
We act as a “system integrator” on floating wind projects from concept development through to front-end engineering and design. Our integrated design approach considers single and adjacent floating structures, turbines, power cables, anchors and moorings
Integrated design approach
We act as a “system integrator” on floating wind projects from concept development through to front-end engineering and design. Our integrated design approach considers single and adjacent floating structures, turbines, power cables, anchors and moorings. Our multidisciplinary approach means we can quickly identify challenges and develop the most cost-effective floating wind solutions. This allows us to manage system engineering and interfaces between platform, mooring and cable at all project phases.
Advanced analysis for power cables
Simulating the dynamic movement of power cables can provide confidence that the design is reliable, low risk and able to operate as intended. We provide dynamic projections of cable behaviour and offer a working solution to optimize configuration and design.
We also provide cross-sectional analysis to predict the integrity of the power cable and the umbilical and identify the condition of the individual armour wires and plastic sheaths.
Cost-conscious approach to minimize Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE)
We have a commercially lead engineering approach that pushes the limits of technology whilst focusing on making the project economics work to provide the best return on investment. We do this by scaling proven designs using specially selected components and materials, reducing conservatism in analysis and optimising fabrication and installation processes.
