We are a multi-talented team with a diverse range of specialisms!
We typically look for engineers from the following disciplines: civil, mechanical, structural, aeronautical, naval architecture, mathematics, physics, and similar.
But our team also includes environmental, geotechnical, software, and materials engineers.
We want to get to know you, your career goals, and the impact you’re hoping to make at 2H. Our hiring process gives us both the opportunity to get to know each other and make sure that 2H is a good fit for helping you achieve your career goals. Here’s what it typically looks like:
1. Apply online
After you have submitted your application online on the Acteon Group Jobs Site, our recruitment team will review your CV and contact you if your skills and experience are a match for the role. If you’re a good fit, we will contact you to arrange a preliminary call.
2. Preliminary call
The recruiter will set up a time to speak to you to learn more and get a better sense of your qualifications, your availability, and your ambitions. Please don’t be shy, we’re keen to hear about you and answer any questions you may have about 2H.
3. First interview (on site or virtual)
Our interviews are usually held in one of our offices in person if practical. If you do not live within easy reach of one of our offices, we may arrange a virtual interview. You will meet with a hiring manager and another member of the 2H team. The interview is designed to help us explore your expertise, previous experience, and level of interest in 2H and what we do. It’s likely you’ll be asked to present a short technical presentation if applying for an engineering role and complete a quick test to help us understand your acumen for engineering analysis.
4. Second interview
For more senior roles, if you rocked your first interview, you may be asked to interview with one or two of our directors so they can get a deeper understanding of your professional experience and talents.
5. Decision
When interviews are complete and we feel like we’ve gotten to know you, we will make a final decision and let you know if you got the job by phone or email giving you the headline details of the offer ahead of receiving a formal contract.
6. You got the job, what next?
Congratulations, we can’t wait to have you on board! Once you accept the offer, you’ll work with an HR manager to agree your start date, complete paperwork, and finalise any other details.
Best of luck! We hope to hear from you soon!
Whilst every office looks a little different, our culture and approach extends across our entire global team! We are committed to creating exceptional workplaces that value and support our employees. Our offices are collaborative and happy environments (with great coffee!) and are set up to encourage interaction with colleagues. Teamwork is a big part of our approach and social activities are a regular feature, from team-building events and birthday treats, to cultural celebrations and weekly social hour after training.
But let’s not forget the work! We will make sure you are placed on projects that align with your goals and provide opportunities for growth. Your day-to-day may involve a variety of engineering activities including performing analysis, leading projects, managing budgets, solving problems, writing technical reports, liaising with clients, and presenting results. You will do this all within a project team that is committed to helping each other succeed.
In addition to the specific technical qualifications required to do the job, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a head for analytical work, excellent problem-solving skills, and top-notch interpersonal and organisational skills. You should be prepared to work as part of a project team but also be able to take ownership of tasks.
We usually require candidates to have the proper work permit or authorisation for the country they are applying to work in, however, should that not be possible, and you are successful in passing your interview, 2H may provide the necessary support during the visa process.
