HV Cable Engineering Our leading-edge analytical capabilities and electrical design expertise allow us to provide independent cable engineering and procurement management services to the offshore renewable industry. 2H Offshore has a long track record in global dynamic analysis and cross-section verification of cables and umbilicals for offshore applications. We have combined this expertise with coupled analysis capabilities for floating wind, electrical design services and wind farm inter-array cable layouts to offer a complete HV cable engineering solution. For dynamic cables, we conduct extreme load, wave fatigue and VIV response assessments. We also define installation envelopes and assess clearance from adjacent mooring lines and other structures. Our services cover conceptual design and functional specification, through to detailed engineering, delivery management, and integrity management. We work with cable manufacturers to procure the lowest risk and most robust cable solution considering the full function and lifecycle of the cable system. As part of this, we provide cable array, routing and redundancy design that accounts for the risks and costs associated with installation, in-service maintenance and potential failures/repair. Array and routing design can include subsea protection solutions and foundation interface design. Electrical design services cover cable length and sizing design or verification and power loss calculations in collaboration with our industry partners.
