Reinforcing Integrity: Wellhead Surface Casing Clamp in Malaysia

A corroded surface casing of a wellhead in Malaysia posed a structural risk threatening the stability of surface equipment for an upcoming well intervention. 2H was tasked with developing a custom surface casing clamp, responsible for detailed design, procurement and testing. The primary challenge was engineering a retrofit clamp that would interface with existing infrastructure. The clamp was successfully delivered and installed, allowing the client to continue with the planned well intervention safely and on schedule.

Expanding Capability: Retrofit I-Tube for Shallow Water Platform

A shallow water platform required the installation of a new cathodic protection electrical cable but lacked available I-tubes. 2H developed a retrofit I-tube managing the design, testing and procurement phases to ensure compatibility and durability in the offshore environment. The retrofit I-tube was successfully installed allowing the client to deploy the additional control cable without modifying the platform’s structure.

Extending Life: I-Tube Support Clamp for FPSO Turret Buoy

During a life extension assessment, a section of the I-tube at the bottom of an FPSO turret buoy was found to fall short of fatigue life requirements. 2H engineered a support clamp to reinforce the I-tube to meet the required fatigue life in parallel to other engineering activities to achieve life extension. The clamp was designed for diver installation with limited overhead access.

Restoring Functionality: Top Tensioned Riser Air Can Stem Clamp

A crack at the weld between the stem and air can a top tensioned riser (TTR) was discovered when the stem was unable to hold pressure. 2H delivered a repair clamp solution, overseeing design, procurement, testing and offshore installation support. The clamp was specifically designed with diver handling and installation in mind, and was successfully deployed restoring the TTRs functionality and avoiding costly downtime.

Emergency Reinforcement: MOPU Leg Clamp

A crack was discovered at the weld between the 3m diameter MOPU leg and mud mat requiring immediate structural reinforcement. 2H was tasked with the detailed design, procurement and testing of a temporary reinforcement clamp. Once again, this custom component needed to be designed with a focus on diver installation. The MOPU leg clamp was successfully delivered and installed, providing temporary support until a permanent solution could be implemented.

Restoring Pressure: Conductor Repair Sleeve in Thailand

A corroded conductor section offshore Thailand was found to be leaking, posing a serious risk to the environment and operations. 2H stepped in to design, procure and test a custom conductor repair sleeve and lifting clamp. The solution enabled the client to grout the annulus between the conductor and sleeve effectively restoring pressure containment.

Precision Control: TTR Guide Wire and Guide Arm Clamps

During connection and disconnection of a top tensioned riser (TTR) extended tension base connector (ETBC) to a subsea wellhead, precise control of riser deflection and inclination is essential. 2H developed a variety of ROV-operable guide wire arm clamps. The TTR guide wire / guide arm clamps were successfully delivered and installed enabling safe and controlled TTR connection and disconnection operations to be performed.

Controlling Movement: Flexible Lazy Wave Riser Tether Clamp

A tether clamp was needed to manage the dynamic movement of flexible lazy wave riser. 2H developed a tether clamp, performing detailed design, procurement, testing and offshore installation support. The clamp was deployed successfully offshore allowing for controlled movement of the riser and ensuring the integrity of the system.
