Key Personnel
Pete Padelopoulos
Senior Technical Consultant, USA
About
Pete is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in deep water riser design, manufacturing, testing, supply and offshore installation. He has multiple years’ project management experience managing pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design and equipment delivery scopes of work with teams of 5-25 engineers. He has also been seconded to operators as part of the technical site teams responsible for riser equipment delivery.
He has extensive experience with engineering, procurement, construction and installation of subsea and deep-water riser systems (SCR, SLWR, TTR, free-standing, flexible and drilling) with emphasis on component design and specification, package management, fabrication, qualification testing, delivery management and offshore installation. He has personally overseen the delivery of bespoke push-up tensioner system and integrally forged/machined tension joints focusing on the technical oversight of supplier design and complex manufacturing processes of components, overseeing design qualification testing, final assembly and hull integration and commissioning.

Mark Nolet
Senior Technical Consultant, US
About
Mark is a Senior Technical Consultant in 2H’s Houston office with over 29 years in the offshore industry. Over the last 12 years Mark has focused on hardware package delivery including design, fabrication and testing of equipment related to managed pressure drilling riser systems, pressure control equipment, drilling riser components, and specialty equipment used in deepwater activities. Prior to that Mark focused on design, fabrication and installation of deep water moorings, suction pile anchors and foundations, and other subsea structures.
Mark obtained his degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on structures from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.

John Tapley
Senior Principal Engineer, US
About
John is a Senior Principal Engineer with over 18 years in deep water riser design, analysis, manufacturing, fabrication and offshore installation. He has 10+ years’ experience managing large projects and teams overseeing the delivery of riser hardware, global riser analysis, integration testing and installation and operations.
His area of expertise is the systems engineering of deep water riser systems and optimisation of hardware packages and interfaces. He has been responsible for developing several comprehensive installation procedures for riser systems and various hardware packages that have been successfully installed and operated offshore. He is also responsible for the conceptual design of bespoke riser hardware equipment that has been developed, qualified and fabricated for offshore use.
2H offers complete engineering and delivery of subsea systems comprising of jumpers, umbilicals, flowlines and risers for optimised design, increased choice of hardware and improved system operability.
2H’s delivery management services are tailored to meet the needs of all project execution phases requiring detailed design, hardware procurement, fabrication management, inspection services, transportation/shipping management and installation support.
Our System Integrator Approach
We take the system integrator role on a project – an approach well-suited to subsea systems that can have many interfaces with the well system and the host vessel, which tend to drive design and procurement activities. This approach allows for a more optimised design, increased flexibility in hardware selection, and improved operability.
2H can mobilise a multi-disciplinary project team that will define and control project activities for equipment that often have a high degree of project specification – typically presenting the following challenges:
Custom-designed components that push the boundaries of manufacturing capability
Multiple interfaces at the vessel and seabed
Many cross-supplier interfaces to manage within the subsea system
Difficulty in finalising the design of all system components simultaneously
Need for early purchase order placement because of long manufacturing lead times
Need for follow-on engineering to manage change and expedite delivery
Project Experience
Vaalco Energy – Etame Subsea System (2022): 2H was the engineering and system integrator for all subsea equipment during the reconfiguration of the Etame field in West Africa. This included the relocation, repurposing, replacement, and decommissioning of over 35km of new and legacy flexible pipe and umbilicals in more than 30 segments. Scope included risers including I-tubes and hang-off flanges, tether clamps, tethers, gravity bases, and the full field pipeline routing, including steel bridge crossings and stability mattresses.
Total – Moho Nord TLP Top Tensioned Risers (2012-2016): design and delivery management of the TLP TTR systems for Total’s Moho Nord field development, offshore Congo. The scope of work includes 17 production and water injection top tensioned risers and one high pressure drilling riser.
Chevron – Big Foot TLP Top Tensioner Risers and SCRs (2011-2018): detailed design and delivery management of the Big Foot TLP riser systems including 2 high pressure drilling risers, 15 production/water injection TTRs and oil and gas export SCRs.
