The topside weight of shallow water platforms has increased significantly over the past 30 years, increasing construction and installation costs for operators. Minimum facilities platforms and normally unmanned installations (MFPs and NUIs) have the ability to reverse this trend, reducing CAPEX and OPEX and accelerating the time to first oil.
