2H Offshore, an Acteon company, was recently invited to join the European Drilling Engineering Association, DEA(e).
The DEA(e) is a body of operators and service companies who make up a JIP with an objective of improving access to and use of drilling technology on a worldwide basis through ongoing knowledge sharing and supply chain stimulation. Phil Ward, 2H director and member contact for DEA(e) said, “Through our contributions to the JIP meetings we will be able to listen to the issues faced by the drilling community as it tackles ever more complex projects and use our depth of domain knowledge to help solve those challenges”.
As DEA(e) members, 2H and Weatherford recently worked towards delivery of the detailed engineering design and fabrication of crossover adaptors for Weatherford’s managed pressure drilling (MPD) system being used on offshore drilling rigs. The crossover adaptors provide the critical interface between Weatherford’s MPD equipment and the original equipment manufacturer’s marine drilling riser. This is a great example of how research and collaboration can be effectively used to tackle challenges faced by offshore drilling operators.
