Advanced systems engineering expert, 2H, is proud to announce that they have been selected as Innovation Partners in the TetraSpar Innovation Challenge.

2H will use the data already available from Tetra Spar condition-based maintenance system’s (CMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), to feed a Physics Based Structural Digital Twin model. The digital twin model will create a virtual replica of the turbine and its components and will enable remote monitoring of performance, early detection of faults, and predictive maintenance planning for the substructure components, including foundation, tower and mooring lines.

The digital twin will also facilitate performance optimisation through simulations and data analysis. These capabilities address the difficulties of accessing and maintaining offshore turbine structures, reduce downtime, improve reliability, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

The fully calibrated digital twin will be able to be used for offshore monitoring throughout the lifecycle of the Tetra Spar floating system.

The TetraSpar Demonstration Project is the world’s first full-scale demonstration of an industrialised offshore foundation. The shareholders of the pioneering TetraSpar Demonstrator floating wind project, Shell, TEPCO Renewable Power, RWE and Stiesdal Offshore launched the Innovation Challenge with the aim of identifying innovative solutions for floating wind.
